Wild Copper is a high-quality, three-layer copper laminate developed for makers who value exceptional materials with a unique visual character. Thanks to a carefully refined forging process, the copper creates an organic, irregular pattern, giving each billet a unique appearance while maintaining a clean, high-performance laminate construction.
The distinctive arrangement of the copper adds depth and dynamics to the surface, giving every knife made from it an individual character. Although the production process is repeatable, the natural variation of the exposed copper makes each billet visually one-of-a-kind.
Wild Copper is available with a core made from various grades of high-carbon steel, allowing you to choose the material that best suits the user's requirements while maintaining the signature Wild Copper aesthetic.
After welding and rolling, each billet undergoes stress-relief and initial softening to ensure good machinability and high material reliability. The surface is lightly cleaned of scale to preserve the texture created during forging, or ground, and each piece is carefully straightened before shipping. Due to the specific nature of the manufacturing process, the final product may require re-straightening after shaping.
Note: Due to the nature of the forging process, every Wild Copper piece has a unique copper pattern. Product photos show the general appearance of the material, but each billet has its own unique character.
