This Santoku knife combines a utilitarian kitchen knife with a highly artistic approach to its laminate. The blade was made in a Go-Mai construction, with a core of 52100 steel, interspersed with a layer of nickel and sides made of copper-carbon mokume gane.

However, the most important element of this knife is the method of pattern creation itself. Unlike more traditional solutions, copper was not used here in the form of simple sheets. Instead, I used a copper mesh, which behaves much more unpredictably during forging and welding. Thanks to this, the copper lines are not even or repetitive — in places they stretch into delicate, wavy strands, and in others they almost disappear, creating an organic, irregular pattern.

The final effect resembles a cross-section of natural layers, a terrain map, or a flowing landscape encapsulated in steel. Each part of the blade has its own character, and the whole forms a pattern that cannot be replicated identically a second time.

The handle was crafted by Adam Wrociński from bog oak. Its sculpted form perfectly complements the raw, deep character of the blade, adding elegance and a very individual expression to the whole.

This knife is for someone who is looking not only for a precise kitchen tool but also for a unique object — handmade, from a material with an inimitable layer arrangement and with a clear trace of craftsmanship.
